Ranbanka Palace- The Mini Jodhpur

Why I named my review as Mini Jodhpur for Ranbanka Palace is because it gives you a glimpse of what Jodhpur is all about. For me Jodhpur was always been a city full of traditional values and cultures. It’s not just another city, but it carries a plethora of historical happenings.

Talking about Ranbanka, it is one beautiful looking palace with lush green surrounding and with an aura of Jodhpur in itself. When you enter the palace, you can listen to mesmerising tunes of folk music and enjoy it while you’re sitting outdoor sipping a cup of hot tea.

We spent two nights at the palace and they were indeed the most memorable ones. We had booked a suite in their Jodhana Wing which to our surprise was huge and that all the amenities one needs were available. If you feel like running inside the room, you can. They have divided suite into three parts i.e Bedroom, Drawing Room and Private Sit Out. The eye opener for us was their outdoor sitting which was just spectacular. The washrooms are decent in size with glass enclosures.

The Jodhana wing is equipped with all the basic and luxury amenities such as swimming pool, Spa, Traditional Restaurant and small shops from where you can buy Rajasthani goods. So if you miss out on anything while exploring the city, you will not regret it, you can buy it from the Palace inside.

On the second night, we were upgraded to their Royal Suite, there is only one word to describe that room, GIGANTIC. This suite had a bathtub, toiletries by Kama Ayurveda, a bigger than king size bed, mini bar with a refrigerator, a huge private sit out with a view of the gardens of Ranbanka and many more things. If you are looking for luxury, this room is for you!

We were really pleased with their mind blowing hospitality and food quality. Do not miss their Rajasthani Thali, it’s just mouth watering. The staff was very courteous and professional. We did not have to tell the staff about anything for a second time; whatever we wanted, they provided it promptly.

This palace has a history behind it which is really very interesting. So I suggest you all to ask the manager and he will be delighted to share it with you all.

Fellow travelers, book this palace without hesitation and you will definitely live like a royalty.

Top 10 hotels To Book In Mussorie

Mussoorie is a hill station which is visited throughout the year and is located in the Dehradun District of state of Uttarakhand. It is about 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km from New Delhi. This hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered part of ‘greater Mussoorie’, as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani. Being at an average altitude of 1,880 metres (6,170 ft), Mussoorie, with its green hills and varied flora and fauna, is a fascinating hill.

We have been visiting mussoorie since 2011 and almost every year. There are many areas where you can book your stay ex. Library End, Picture Palace, Landour and Barlowganj. Barlowganj is 5 kms from mall road and mainly has 5 star properties such as Jaypee Residency Manor. Picture Palace is the best area to book your hotel as it nearby to the mall road and the road to landour goes near to picture palace. If you love to stay in serenity and a little away from the hustle bustle then opt for library end, we stayed once on the library side and it was amazing.

We are listing down few properties in which we stayed and which we love-

1) Jaypee Residency Manor- Barlowganj
2) Golden Palms- Picture Palace
3) Rokeby Manor- Landour
4) Dancing Leaves By Sterling- Library Hill
5) Kasmanda Palace- Mall Road
6) Fortune Grace- Library End
7) Mosaic- Picture Palace
8) Welcome Hotel The Savoy- Library End
9) Claridges Nabha- Barlowganj
10) Ivy Bank- Landour

Top Summer Treks In India

Trekking is gaining too much exposure these days, everybody wants to be a traveller and not a tourist. For me trekking is not less than breathing, because it gives you a rush and also it helps in detoxification. I have roamed a lot in the mountains and the only thing which makes me go back again and again in the serenity and the calmness. When you trek to the far regions who tend to explore the nature more widely. Now that winters are receding summers are approaching we would like to list down ur favorite summer treks for beginners.

  • The Deo Tibba trek-is a great choice for beginners and amateur trekkers. It takes you through forests and pastures of the Gaddi shepherds and on to the village of Khanol. The trail leads to Seri and Chandertal Lake with its distinctive crescent shape. The next leg of the trek covers hamlets with temples framed against the lofty Himalayas before ultimately reaching the Deo Tibba base camp.
  • Kedarkantha-a mountain peak whose trekking trail draws adventure enthusiasts from all over. The base camp offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range, making it one of the best Himalayan summer treks. Although located at an altitude of 12,500 feet, the trek is considered easy to moderate, giving beginners and amateurs a good opportunity to hone their trekking skills. While it doesn’t require prior experience trekking, it’s important to stay in shape so you don’t tire out halfway on the trail.
  • The Har ki Doon Valley is a beautiful cradle-shaped hanging valley in the Garhwal Himalayas. It’s surrounded by alpine vegetation and towering snow-capped mountains. The trail is a popular one among trekkers who are just starting out and those who have trekked higher altitude trails.
  • Valley of Flowers is set in the Valley of Flowers National Park, famed for its endemic flora and home to endangered animals. ‘Discovered’ by mountaineer and explorer Frank Smith in 1931, it soon became a popular destination for nature lovers yearning to glimpse the valley filled with flowers. It’s now thought to be one of the best Himalayan summer treks for many.
  • Triund  trek can be described as a tranquil trek which can be easily accomplished by almost all age groups . Triund has an unambiguous byway which goes through a beautiful mixed forest of oak, deodar and rhododendron . Trek is fairly easy for the first five kilometers but the last one kilometer may require a bit of toil , the last one kilometer is popularly know as the “22 curves” as it has 22 tiring  curves before you finally reach Triund
  • Kheer Ganga (3050 meters) lies at the extreme end of Parvati valley and the last inhibited village while trekking to pin valley via Pin-Parvati pass. Kheerganga’s panoramic skies and vast greenery are a much-needed delight to the trekker’s eyes and especially the tired legs. It is a holy place with a hot water spring, a small temple of Lord Shiva and a bathing tank. It makes a rare combination for any trekker to bath in hot spring water when everything is covered by snow.

The Classroom” is the ideal nostalgic journey to your school days. Old styled blackboards, worn out wooden tables, FLAMES (the game) jolted on stained walls and Ramu Kaka ki Canteen with a section of junk food just like any other school canteen takes us back to our childhood days.

The place is neatly designed and looks superb with desk bench like seating arrangement and aluminium thalis in which the food is served. From notebook style menu to the bar which is named as Ramu Kaka ki Canteen etc, the ambience is really good and you have a big smoking area which also has pool table for your childhood pool playing memories.

The food is good and the menu offers quite a few varieties of different cuisines but the
wheat beer is not that great as we expected. It was too strong and the after taste was not
pleasing for our palate. We ordered a Veg platter and a Non Veg Platter to start with. The
platter is really wholesome especially the Veg platter as they have given different items to indulge in & similarly the Non Veg platter, the Chicken Dimsums are average. Tiramisu was a not great as it was to buttery and lacked the flavours. You won’t either be disappointed or be happy about the food.

The service is prompt ,the staff is attentive and we didn’t find  any drawback which makes this place a nice spot to chill and have some good memories.

Canvas Music Hall

All roads led to The People and Co in Cyberhub as Delhi NCR was treated to a colossal music invasion of one of India’s most celebrated band, ADVAITA that kicked off an unforgettable experience in the city. A mélange of fusion music culminated on a high note at Canvas Music Hall, Gurgaon as the music community of the city came together to raise toast to good music with more who were in all applause for its very first extravaganza.

The performance saw an electrifying line-up on stage coupled with ecstatic energy from music lovers who thronged the venue in big numbers. Delhi NCR was witness to some of the best stage production and design it has ever seen with live performances, scrumptious food and sassy ambience. Canvas Music Hall is the next big premium live music destination in town.

About Advaita

Advaita is an eclectic fusion band based in New Delhi, India. Since their inception in 2004, they have established themselves as one of the most innovative and original acts on the Indian music scene. Advaita has successfully carved out a niche for their style of music in the global context, while staying true to their characteristically Indian roots. Advaita’s music gives the listener the opportunity to enjoy the brilliance of Hindustani classical, as well as the thrill of rock. From the smooth, polished husky tone of the Western Vocalist to the deep and powerful delivery of the Hindustani Vocalist, the music of Advaita is further elevated by the synthesis of guitars, keyboards, drums, the tabla and the exotic drone of the Sarangi. Of all Indian instruments, it is said that the sarangi most resembles the sound of the human voice. Advaita was the only band to be part of season 1 of MTV Coke Studio India. The spectacular response to ‘Coke Studio’ resulted in the band being given the honor of doing a full one hour episode on the legendary show MTV Unplugged.

Casual Fun! By John Players

There are different ways a person can carry himself and summer fashion comes with a potpourri of flavors. And for men and women are alike, believe me when I say this !

Its great to see a brand evolving , into a one stop shop for all your needs, opening more windows of styling. Feisty prints, funky tees, solids and denims they have the most of it. John Players is young and esquire.

Look 1:
I choose dark colors and i love to pair different shades of blue. So in this look i paired a washed denim with printed royal blue shirt with blue leather loafers. The entire is look is to prove that you can match same color tones without looking weird.

Look 2:

Sometimes you feel like to throw away the skinny fit jeans and fitted shirt to get into something more comfortable. The second look is for those people who wanna be cool and casual without compromising their attire. One can slip those flip flops and wear espadrilles or boat shoes.

IMG_4162 modified

Look 3:

This is my favourite look, you can dress up this way and carry a casual look. Not many people prefer wearing a tshirt beneath a shirt, but then if you pair it up properly then it looks dapper. This is most common attire for a college going kid or if he just wants to hangout with his friends.

You can reach this place via Bhimtal taking the road that leads to Almora. One Partridge Hill is not just a homestay, it is a luxury retreat nestled in the lap of nature.
